Gander Mountain sales landed on a plateau in the fourth quarter.

The outdoor retailer saw same-store sales take a tumble in the fall, decreasing 6.5 percent. (Same-store sales figures exclude stores open less than a year.) Between November and January, that figure was roughly flat, compared with the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Gander Mountain would have reported positive same-store sales, the company said in its statement, if it weren’t for sinking sales of boats, ATVs and “power sport services,” all categories the company is exiting.

The retailer saw strong sales of guns and ammo, as well as footwear, and also got a revenue bump from its new online and catalog operations, which launched in the fall after a judge ruled they didn’t violate a previous business deal with Cabella’s.
