The Fargo Forum reports this morning that a “minimal number” of employees at Microsoft Fargo are losing their jobs today.
The source is Lou Gellos, Microsoft spokesman.
The company’s Fargo campus is the Fargo-Moorhead area’s largest employer among primary-sector businesses, which sell goods and services nationally and internationally. Microsoft has more than 1,000 employees and 500 vendor personnel in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
The cuts are part of 5,000 company-wide job cuts Microsoft announced in January. It is possible additional cuts will be made in the coming months, Gellos said.
“We’ve moved closer to the 5,000 (positions) but we’re not there yet,” he said.
The Fargo office also cut jobs earlier this year.
