Twitter co-founder cites Best Buy in CNBC interview

In an interview with CNBC, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone name drops Best Buy as a company that “gets it.”

Business services — not advertising — are being explored as the company’s first potential revenue stream. Stone mentions that Best Buy is an example of a company already using Twitter to track consumer sentiment.

Best Buy uses applications like spy, which it developed in-house, to monitor what Twitter users are saying about the company. The retailer also recently dispatched a team of sales and service reps on Twitter to try to make contact with current and potential customers.
