Best Buy promotes two leaders to executive vice president

Best Buy announced the promotion to executive vice president for two of its senior leaders, including the person widely credited for the company’s embrace of social media such as Twitter.

Barry Judge, 46, right, becomes executive vice president, chief marketing officer. He was the first higher-up at Best Buy to start using social media for soliciting feedback from employees and customers. Judge regularly shares thoughts on marketing and rough cuts of TV commercials on his blog. He joined Best Buy in 1999 and also helped launch BestBuy.com.

Tim Sheehan, 45, becomes executive vice president, enterprise retail operations, and will work to “evolve the company’s current store support, operations and service” as the retailer expands its reach globally.
