Best Buy reaching out to Spanish-speaking customers

How do you say Blu-ray en Espanol?

The dotGlobal blog reports from the Hispanic Retail 360 conference in Las Vegas about how Best Buy is working to increase sales to Hispanics and Latin Americans.

Christine Webster-Moore, the retailer’s V-P for business initiatives, spoke at the conference about how the company is reaching out to Spanish speakers on its website, through social networking sites, and through programs in its stores.

One example: Best Buy offers laptops pre-configured in Spanish or Portuguese. Many Mexicans and Brazilians buy laptops in the United States because of better prices. The company also offers forms that allow Mexican nationals to have sales tax they paid returned to them.
