Best Buy‘s Twelpforce has spawned a crop of Twitter users “SO excited about the initiative” they’ve decided to pretend they work at Best Buy.
A real employee issued a warning via a company blog on Monday, along with a list of known Twitter impostors. The company is working with Twitter and expects the deceptive accounts to be shut down soon. “Until they are, please, avoid doing business with these people.”
Twelpforce is the retailer’s new sales and service outreach team on Twitter. More than 1,000 store employees have volunteered to help answer customer questions via the micro-blogging service. Twitter users can direct questions to Best Buy via the @twelpforce account.
