The latest issue of Health Imaging & IT magazine spotlights HealthPartners‘ Regions Hospital as one of the country’s top 25 most connected health-care facilities.
HealthPartners says it is one of the first organizations with electronic health records that integrate electronic X-rays, MRIs and CT scans and radiology reports.
“The benefits of being paperless include increased efficiency because images can be available quickly at multiple locations and they cannot be lost,” Regions Hospital CIO Kim LaReau said in the press release.
HealthPartners says the technology saves $300,000 a year in film storage costs and $130,000 annually in expenses for transcribing reports.
