Ecolab partnering on study of hand-washing in hospitals

Ecolab is teaming up with a private-sector health care center to combat hospital infections caused by improper hand hygiene.

The company said today it’s partnering with the Center for Transforming Healthcare on a study to improve hand hygiene and eliminate it as a cause of health care infections.

The press release says proper hand hygiene is the most effective way to prevent “healthcare associated infections,” which cause nearly 100,000 deaths per year in U.S. hospitals, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

Seriously this is a really big issue. I wonder if someday they can produce a ray of some light that can kill/eliminate most germs around the nail area or coerc people to wash for more than 12 seconds so they get to the nails i.e. bells or closed doors.
