Best Buy to open its first 24-hour store in New York

New Yorkers who get a late-night craving for a new video game will soon be able to go to a 24-hour Best Buy store.

Best Buy announced that it plans to open its first-ever 24-hour retail location Nov. 13 in New York City’s Union Square in downtown Manhattan.

The store will stay open from 8 a.m. Monday morning to midnight on Saturday night. Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Meanwhile, select Best Buy stores will be open until midnight next Monday for the 12 a.m. DVD release of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”

That’s fine and all, but when do we a Best Buy — even one with “normal” hours — in the City of Minneapolis. It’s rumored that Best Buy has been hunting around downtown Minneapolis for a number of years, but nothing has happened yet. Time for a hometown flagship store, Best Buy!
