Target says 26 new stores will create 5,000 jobs

Target says its injecting more than 5,000 new jobs into local economies with the opening of 26 new stores.

The Minneapolis retail giant announced today that grand openings are scheduled for the stores on Sunday.

The locations, from Anchorage, Alaska, to West Palm Beach, Fla., include 21 general merchandise stores and five full-grocery SuperTargets.

The nearest new stores are in Wauwatosa, Wis., and Sioux Falls, S.D., where the Argus Leader reports that curious shoppers can get a sneak peak beginning at 5 p.m. today. Meanwhile, the top story out of Wauwatosa: Will the new Target sell beer and wine?
