Fastenal to acquire Holo-Krome: Fastenal Co. announced Wednesday evening that it was buying a small West Hartford, Conn.-based fastener manufacturer. Fastenal said it’s buying certain assets of Holo-Krome Co. for an undisclosed sum. The company produces socket head screw products. Read full story

Sun Country launches vacations program: Sun Country Airlines is starting to offer vacation packages as it seeks to expand its offerings. The Mendota Heights-based carrier on Wednesday announced the launch of Sun Country Vacations, which allows customers to book airfare, hotel and extra amenities in a single transaction. People’s Center Medical Clinic awarded $2M in stimulus funding: The People’s Center Medical Clinic is receiving $2.1 million in federal economic stimulus cash to help it upgrade its facility in Minneapolis’ Cedar-Riverside neighborhood. The money was part of more than $500 million in spending for community health centers announced Wednesday. People’s is the only Minnesota center receiving funding. Read full story

Compensation down 11% for FSI International’s Mitchell: FSI International’s top executive saw his compensation decline 11 percent during a rough fiscal year for the Chaska-based technology company. Donald Mitchell, chairman, president and CEO, made $491,940 in total compensation for the year ended Aug. 29, versus $554,254 the previous year. Read full story

Patterson adds McKesson exec to board: Patterson Cos. has elected Dr. Brian Tyler to its board of directors. Tyler is president of McKesson Medical Surgical Group, a $2.7 billion division of McKesson Corp. that distributes surgical, pharmaceutical, equipment and laboratory products to physicians’ offices, nursing homes, surgery centers and the home-care market.
