Comcast expands, renames service for cable TV on Internet: Communications giant Comcast Corp. said Tuesday it has expanded its trial — to include all its customers — of an Internet-based on-demand programming service. The service, which Comcast has renamed Fancast XFinity TV, allows people who get their cable-television and Internet service from Comcast to watch online many of the same programs they are authorized to get on demand on their TV sets. Imperial Capital to acquire Mercanti Group: Investment banking firm Imperial Capital is buying the Mercanti Group, a Minneapolis-based advisory outfit. Imperial, which already had offices in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Houston and Boston, also gains a downtown Minneapolis office as part of the acquisition. Mayo shares in Parkinson’s research money from Michael Fox Foundation: Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic’s Arizona facility is sharing in a Parkinson’s disease research grant. The Mayo Clinic Arizona and the Sun City, Ariz.-based Banner Sun Health Research Institute received $1.7 million from the Michael J. Fox Foundation to boost research into Parkinson’s disease. Rosedale Macy’s to stay open overnight: Shoppers fretting about getting to the Macy’s at Rosedale Center have no need to worry: Starting Monday, it’s going to be open 24 hours a day until Christmas Eve. Macy’s has employed the practice at select stores for the past four years, but this is the first time that a Minnesota store has stayed open overnight. Read full story
ADC CEO Switz gets less pay in shortened fiscal year: Robert Switz, the president, chairman and CEO of ADC Telecommunications, saw pay decline in the past fiscal year as the Eden Prairie-based firm sought to make its way through the recession.
