Medtronic, AGA Medical settle patent lawsuit: Medtronic announced today that it has settled the patent-infringement lawsuit it filed against AGA Medical Corp. in 2007. In the lawsuit, Fridley-based Medtronic alleged that AGA had infringed upon the patent for its Jervis family of patents, which cover the use of stress to restrain self-expanding medical devices made of nitinol. The patents are scheduled to expire in 2018. Read full story

Boston Scientific will wait in FDA “queue”: Federal regulators won’t expedite their review of paperwork Boston Scientific needs approved before it can resume shipping heart defibrillators to customers, the company said today. Boston Scientific stopped shipping the devices on March 15, after it failed to notify the U.S. Food and Drug Administration of changes the company made to its manufacturing processes. Select Comfort lands improved credit facility: Select Comfort announced today it has entered into a new credit agreement with Wells Fargo & Co. The agreement provides a commitment of up to $20 million, with a term through June 2012. It replaces the company’s existing credit facility with a syndicate of banks. Read full story

Supervalu will sell 6 bigg’s stores and close 5 more: Supervalu said today it has agreed to sell six Cincinnati-area bigg’s grocery stores and their pharmacies to Remke Markets for an undisclosed amount. The deal is expected to close this spring. Meanwhile, Eden Prairie-based Supervalu plans to close its five remaining bigg’s stores before the end of May. Read full story

Smitten Kitten expanding to Denver: The Smitten Kitten, a Minneapolis sex toy and equipment shop, is expanding into Denver. The company will open what will be its second location on Thursday. The Smitten Kitten expects its non-toxic sex toys will appeal to customers in Denver, partly because the city is “a really sex-positive place,” said Clare Jacky, a company spokeswoman.
