Marcus Theatres adding 3-D screen at Oakdale Cinemas: Marcus Theatres will install digital 3-D systems in eight of its signature 70-foot-wide UltraScreens at selected theaters throughout the Upper Midwest, including one at Oakdale Cinemas. The first new UltraScreen XL3D will debut Friday at the Marcus Majestic Cinema in Brookfield, Wis. The other seven will be completed in time for the May 21 release of Shrek Forever After. Minnesota Twins, Mayo Clinic announce partnership: The Minnesota Twins on Thursday announced a new partnership with Mayo Clinic that will include a variety of advertisements and health initiatives at Target Field. The organizations will team up to provide on-site health screenings and educational events before selected Twins home games throughout the 2010 season, as well as pregame interviews with Mayo physicians on health topics. Best Buy shares up on strong earnings news: Best Buy Co. Inc. shares jumped Thursday after the retailer said profit was up 37 percent in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010, beating Wall Street estimates. The Richfield-based consumer electronics giant posted net income of $779 million, or $1.82 per share, in the quarter ended Feb. 27. That compares to earnings of $570 million, or $1.35 per share, in the comparable quarter last year — a period that included $144 million in restructuring and impairment charges. Read full story
