FDA clears Medtronic ‘next-generation’ surgical MRI system: Medtronic Inc. on Monday said federal regulators have approved the latest version of a brain surgery device allowing for real-time MRI imaging in the operating room. The Food and Drug Administration clearance allows Fridley-based Medtronic to launch of the PoleStar N30 Surgical MRI system in the United States. Read full story 

Carlson: Martinique hotel joins Radisson: Carlson Hotels on Monday said a 175-room Martinique hotel has joined the company’s Radisson franchise. The Hotel La Bateliere, owned by Groupe Monplaisir, will now be called the Radisson Hotel & Spa Martinique. Read full story 

General Mills health director named health foundation chairman: Timothy Crimmins, vice president and director of health, safety and environment at General Mills, was elected chairman of the Hennepin Health Foundation, the foundation announced Friday. The nonprofit Hennepin Health Foundation supports the Hennepin County Medical Center and focuses on innovative patient-support programs, needs of patients dealing with poverty, medical research and public advocacy, according to the hospital’s website. Former Cargill exec opens Forum restaurant in old Goodfellows space at City Center: The former Goodfellows restaurant space at Minneapolis’ City Center is vacant no more with the opening of the Forum restaurant on Friday. The Forum is serving up a mix of chophouse and comfort-food fare. Jim and Stefanie Ringo’s Ringo Restaurants Inc. is the owner.
