Security Life buys Pennsylvania insurance company: Security Life Insurance Co. of America will buy Eastern Life and Health Insurance Co. from Pennsylvania's Eastern Insurance Holdings Inc. (EIH). Minnetonka-based Security, a life, dental and vision insurance company, could pay more than $33 million for the group benefits insurance subsidiary, EIH said in a news release Tuesday. General Mills to split stock 2-for-1: General Mills Inc. on Monday declared a 2-for-1 stock split to take effect May 28. The Golden Valley food company has split its stock seven times since its incorporation in 1928. Read full story 

Toro Co. acquires USPraxis Inc. lumber tools for product line: Toro Co. has added stump grinders, wood chippers and log splitters to its product lineup through a deal with USPraxis Inc. Bloomington-based Toro said in a news release that the products will be marketed under the Toro brand and sold internationally. Read full story 

Ford Ranger sales up 15 percent in April: Ranger pickup sales jumped by about 15 percent this April over the prior year, Ford Motor Co. said about the St. Paul-built truck Monday. Overall, the Ford brand notched a 26-percent gain in year-to-year sales last month. Read full story
