Vikings name Dome Dog replacement, drops Coke for Pepsi: The Minnesota Vikings on Friday named a successor to the Dome Dog — a quarter-pound sausage dubbed the “QB Dog.” The new hot dog will be provided by Sheboygan Sausage Co., an Alexandria, Minn.-based division of American Foods Group, which is headquartered in a Vikings’ archrival’s territory: Green Bay, Wis. Compellent stock surges on 3Par bidding war: Compellent Technologies Inc.’s stock was up more than 14 percent in afternoon trading Friday, a surge sparked by a bidding war over one of the company’s competitors, 3Par Inc. Hewlett-Packard on Friday morning announced it would pay about $2 billion for 3Par, a data-storage firm based in Fremont, Calif. Dell Inc. kicked off the bidding war over 3Par. Dell initially offered to pay $1.15 billion for the firm, but later upped its bid to $1.8 billion. Read full story
