Sun Country offers $499 all-you-can-fly pass: Sun Country Airlines will offer a 37-day unlimited airfare pass for $499, the Mendota Heights carrier said today. The passes are good for unlimited coach travel on Sun Country operated and scheduled flights between Sept. 7 and Oct. 13, but must be bought before Aug. 24 or supplies run out. Passengers using the “Fall Free for All” pass for domestic and international flights must book their tickets three days before departure. Read full story

Tonka Bay buys Denver produce distributor: Tonka Bay Equity Partners announced Monday it has acquired Freshpack Produce. Denver-based Freshpack, founded in 2000, is a distributor and value-added repackager of fresh fruits and vegetables serving retail stores, food-service organizations and wholesale customers. The company does business in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Read full story

G&K profit rises in Q4: G&K Services’ profit increased in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010, helped by lower merchandise costs and improved production efficiencies. The Minneapolis-based company, best known as a provider of work uniforms, reported net earnings of $11.1 million, or 61 cents per share, in the fourth quarter. That compares with net income of $2.8 million, or 16 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Read full story

Comcast says local TV viewers using DVR more: Twin Cities television viewers are most drawn to sports, comedies and dramas, and they’re increasingly using digital video recorders and other time-shifting technologies to watch their favorite programs, according to Comcast’s second annual “TV Pulse Survey.” It found that 56 percent of local viewers plan to watch sports this fall, compared with 45 percent of viewers nationwide. Other popular shows include comedies (73 percent), dramas (72 percent), movies (57 percent), new/educational (56 percent) and reality shows (33 percent). Read full story
