Children’s Hospital plans to cut between 200 and 250 jobs: Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota plans to eliminate between 200 and 250 full-time positions by mid-November, a spokesman said today. The job cuts will come through a combination of layoffs, voluntary early retirements and leaving open positions vacant, hospital spokesman Brian Lucas said. Savage’s Milestone AV Technologies recalls faulty flat-screen TV mounts: A Minnesota company is recalling about 131,000 TV wall mounts that could cause flat screens to fall to the ground or onto their owners. Savage-based Milestone AV Technolgies and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission today announced the voluntary recall. No injuries have been reported in connection with the potential failures. Qwest and CenturyLink shareholders OK merger: Qwest and CenturyLink shareholders, voting separately Tuesday, overwhelmingly approved merging the companies and creating the nation’s third-largest land line telecom. Nearly 97 percent of voting Qwest shareholders cast ballots in favor of the all-stock deal selling control of Denver-based Qwest Communications International to its Monroe, La.-based acquirer and creating a 16 million-line telecom.
