ATK will build $100 million plant in Utah: Alliant Techsystems plans to invest $100 million to build a new manufacturing facility in Clearfield, Utah, the Salt Lake City Tribune is reporting. The new plant will manufacture commercial airframes, classified military programs and commercial engine structures. Utah offered Eden Prairie-based ATK $19 million in tax incentives to renovate and install its manufacturing equipment in an existing 615,000-square-foot building. Read full story

Ecolab buys Illinois laundry firm: Ecolab announced Thursday it has purchased the commercial laundry division of Dober Chemical Corp., a privately-held Woodridge, Ill. firm. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Dober’s commercial laundry business had 2009 sales of about $37 million. Read full story

Vikings-Saints game draws record ratings: The Minnesota Vikings’ 14-9 loss to the New Orleans Saints Thursday night was the highest-rated National Football League kickoff ever. It was also the highest rated NFL prime-time regular season game in 13 years. The contest was watched by nearly 18 percent of television households in America, and the Twin Cities  market was the second-highest with about 44 percent of households.
