ATK-Lockheed Martin partnership gets piece of NASA contract: A partnership between Alliant Techsystems and Lockheed Martin Corp. has won part of a major launch services contract with NASA. The ATK-Lockheed partnership was included in NASA’s recently announced contract covering space launch services over the next 10 years. Under the contract, NASA has the ability to order a maximum of 70 launch services missions with a maximum contract value of $15 billion. Lockheed Martin and ATK in March announced a strategic agreement to offer launch services using upgraded and modernized two-stage Athena Ic and three-stage Athena IIc rockets. Read full story

Xcel seeking more wind power in region: Xcel Energy is looking for some wind power around the Upper Midwest. The utilities giant said today that it wants to acquire up to 250 megawatts of wind generation in the region by the end of 2012. Xcel is seeking proposals to either sign power purchase agreements with new wind generation projects, or to acquire one outright. Read full story

U of St. Thomas biz students to learn from “Wall Street 2”: It’s going to be Professor Gordon Gekko for University of St. Thomas business students next week. The school’s Opus College of Business in downtown Minneapolis is hosting a prescreening of “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps” for students on Wednesday, two days before the movie’s official release. The movie screening is for 200 business undergraduate and graduate students at the school. Read full story
