Delta flight attendants to vote on union: The National Mediation Board has set dates for a vote by more than 20,000 Delta Air Lines flight attendants to decide whether they want to be represented by a labor union, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA has anounced. The voting will take place Sept. 29 to Nov. 3. Read full story

Traffic up again in July for Delta: August marked the third month in a row that Delta Air Lines posted higher traffic. The Atlanta-based airline, which has major operations in Eagan, said its system traffic in July rose 1.1 percent on a 1.2 percent increase in capacity. Load factor, or how full its planes were, was flat at 86.5 percent. Domestic traffic increased 0.9 percent and international jumped 4.2 percent. Read full story

John Beardsley, former CEO of Padilla Speer Beardsley, dead at 73: John Beardsley, retired CEO of Minneapolis-based public relations firm Padilla Speer Beardsley, has died from complications following heart surgery. Beardsley, 73, spent 13 years at the helm of Padilla Speer Beardsley, taking over in 1987 after the merger between the former Padilla and Speer Inc. and Brum and Anderson. He retired in 2001.
