Grand Hotel purchase back on track, for less: Pebblebrook Hotel Trust appears to be back on track to purchase The Grand Hotel Minneapolis, after renegotiating to slightly lower the purchase price, according to a regulatory filing. The Bethesda, Md.-based real estate investment trust now plans to pay $33 million for the hotel, down from the original $36 million purchase price. Read full story

Jack Link’s Beef Jerky buying JBS plant: Jack Link’s Beef Jerky, the Wisconsin snack maker behind the “Messin’ with Sasquatch” ad campaign, has agreed to buy a Minnesota meat snack company from JBS of Brazil, the world’s largest beef producer. Jack Link is acquiring a plant in Mankato, Minn., that employs 85 workers. Read full story

TreeHouse buys Minnesota food company: TreeHouse Foods Inc., a food products manufacturer with major operations in the Green Bay area, has agreed to buy S.T. Specialty Foods, a Brooklyn Park-based food products maker, for $180 million in cash. The purchase agreement for S.T. Specialty Foods, a portfolio company of Windjammer Capital Investors of Newport Beach, Calif., also includes a provision for up to $15 million in additional payments if the company achieves certain earnings targets in 2010.
