MOA to get Radisson Blu hotel: A 501-room hotel planned for the Mall of America will be a Radisson Blu, Carlson Hotels announced Tuesday. Mortenson Development. Inc. will develop the hotel at a cost of $130 million. Construction is slated to start in December, with an opening planned in late 2012. Read full story

General Mills earnings up 12% in Q1: General Mills Inc. earnings were up 12 percent in the first quarter as the maker of Cheerios and Green Giant vegetables enjoyed a slight growth in sales. Golden Valley-based General Mills reported net earnings of $472.1 million, or 70 cents per share, for the quarter ended Aug. 29, up from $420.6 million, or 62 cents per share, for the same quarter a year ago. SEC sues over real estate lending fund: A Minneapolis-based attorney and his two San Francisco-area promoters defrauded investors in a real estate lending fund by hiding a default by the fund’s sole business partner, according to a civil complaint the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filed Tuesday.
