Petters associate White gets 5 years: It was another day, another sentencing for a former associate of Tom Petters, the former Minnesota business mogul currently serving a 50-year prison sentence for running a $3.65 billion Ponzi scheme. A federal judge today sentenced Robert White to five years in prison. White had previously pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud and one count of money laundering. Read full story

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota wins ‘Biggest Loser’ challenge: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota workers beat out employees at six other large Twin Cities-based companies to win the Biggest Loser Summer Challenge — a weight-loss challenge organized by the Alliance for a Healthier Minnesota. Workers at Eagan-based Blue Cross lost more than 3,780 pounds, or 2.8 percent of their total weight, since Memorial Day. On top of that, workers at Blue beat out competitors for average number of minutes of exercise. Another health insurer, Minnetonka-based UnitedHealth Group, won a separate competition related to healthy eating habits. Read full story

Hillcrest Golf Club in St. Paul for sale: The Hillcrest Golf Club in St. Paul is up for sale. The local office of Grubb & Ellis Co. is listing the 112-acre property with an asking price of $4.2 million. The private golf club, established in 1921, features an 18-hole golf course and an 18,426-square-foot clubhouse that was built in 2000. There’s also a swimming pool and practice facility.
