Medtronic to pay $268 million to settle lawsuits over defibrillator wires: Medtronic Inc. said Thursday it will pay $268 million to settle U.S. lawsuits involving its Sprint Fidelis family of defibrillator wires, which it recalled in 2007. The Fridley-based medical device maker said parties will file to end the litigation, as well as dismiss plaintiffs’ appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Wells Fargo in top three for loans in foreclosure: The nation’s Big Three of banking have the most homes in foreclosure, according to research firm SNL Financial. San Francisco-based Wells Fargo & Co., which has one of the largest banking operations in the Twin Cities, has $17.5 billion, or 4.74 percent of its one-to-four family mortgages, in foreclosure, SNL Financial said in a report Tuesday.
