Target same-store sales rise 1.3% in September: Target Corp. on Thursday reported same-store sales were up 1.3 percent in September compared to the same period a year ago, results that fell short of analysts’ expectations. Same-store sales, a key measure of a retailer’s health, were “near the low end” of the company’s estimates, said Target CEO Gregg Steinhafel in a press statement. Read full story

UnitedHealthcare brings Mayo Clinic into network: UnitedHealth Group Inc.’s UnitedHealthcare subsidiary will add Mayo Clinic physicians and hospitals to its commercial plan network, effective Nov. 1. The move, which Minnetonka-based UnitedHealth and Mayo announced Thursday, means 25 million UnitedHealthcare commercial plan members will be able to travel to one of Mayo’s facilities for treatment and pay the same out-of-pocket costs as if they were going to the local in-network hospital. Delta lands new SkyMiles partners: Delta Air Lines Inc. signed on new partners to give its SkyMiles members mileage-earning opportunities and savings on everyday products and services. Atlanta-based Delta, which has major operations in Eagn, also said it designated 1-800 Flowers and Hertz Car Rental as Preferred SkyMiles Partners. Read full story
