Microsoft vs. Apple battle at Mall of America begins Saturday, Delta bringing back kiddie wings, and Hooters in Burnsville closes.

Microsoft vs. Apple battle at Mall of America begins Saturday: Microsoft Corp.’s Mall of America retail store will open its doors for the first time on Saturday. The retail shop, which will sell computers, software, Xbox game systems and other products, is Microsoft’s sixth such store to open nationwide. The company’s MOA store is directly across from rival Apple Inc.’s existing location at the Bloomington megamall. Read full story

Delta bringing back kiddie wings: Delta Air Lines Inc. has renewed an old tradition and is again distributing plastic winged pins — called Kiddie Wings — to children who fly on the airline. The plastic pins debuted in 1958 as a perk for children on certain flights. The wings were scrapped a few years ago in the industry-wide wave of cost-cutting that also saw airlines scratching for pennies by eliminating snacks and even pillows from flights. Read full story

Hooters in Burnsville closes: The Hooters restaurant in Burnsville has closed, according to the Star Tribune. The restaurant apparently closed Oct. 25. No one answered the phone at the restaurant this morning. Since it closed, a few of the restaurant’s customers posted RIP messages on the company’s Facebook page. Read full story
