WASHINGTON — Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s Freedom First PAC will endorse Republican challengers in four Minnesota House seats currently seen as long-shots later today, a Pawlenty adviser confirmed this morning.

Pawlenty will endorse Republicans Teresa Collett, Joel Demos, Lee Byberg and Chip Cravaack. The four are challenging Democrats Betty McCollum, Keith Ellison, Collin Peterson and Jim Oberstar, respectively. With the endorsement will come a check for $2,000 for each, the adviser said.

All three major election ratings organizations, CQ Politics, Rothenberg Political Report and the Cook Political Report, rate the races as safe for the incumbents.

With the endorsements, Pawlenty’s Freedom First PAC will officially have its hands in every Minnesota House race this fall.

Pawlenty’s PAC has already contributed to the three GOP incumbents, John Kline, Michele Bachmann and Erik Paulsen, and gave in the second quarter to 1st District challenger Randy Demmer.
