WASHINGTON — A new poll out late today shows a tight race in southern Minnesota, with two-term incumbent Tim Walz leading Republican challenger Randy Demmer by five points.
The KAAL-TV ABC 6 News/Survey USA poll has Walz up 47-42 over Demmer, with two other candidates at or below four percent. Five percent of voters were undecided. The poll surveyed 800 registered voters and the margin of error was 4.1 percent.
This is the closest that any independent poll has showed any Minnesota congressional race this cycle. Every national prognosticator has the 1st rated as either Likely or Lean Democrat, though this survey may prompt a reevaluation.
