DES MOINES, Iowa — A brief pause from the pre-presidential hecticness for some news that, if you’ll pardon this terrible pun, is quite a bit tastier.
On Wednesday, the question among Minnesota’s congressional delegation that has been ongoing for years on end will finally get an authoritative answer. That question: Who makes the best hot dish?
The answer comes in the form of a hot dish-off, with almost every member of Minnesota’s congressional delegation submitting an entry to be judged in a blind taste test by a blue-ribbon, bipartisan panel.
The contestants: Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken; Republican Reps. John Kline, Michele Bachmann and Erik Paulsen; and Democratic Reps. Keith Ellison, Betty McCollum and Tim Walz.
The judges of this blind taste test are former Republican Rep. Vin Weber, former Democratic Rep. Gerry Sikorski and, inexplicably, me. The Minnesota State Society’s Megan Ivory Carr will host. If you happen to be in Washington, the event will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern time at a location to be determined.
