Klobuchar’s Gleektastic fundraiser

WASHINGTON — Most fundraisers here are somewhat bland affairs, often at a high-class D.C. restaurants. But for $2,000 a pop, at a concert next month, Glee fans can rock out to “Don’t Stop Believing” with Minnesota’s senior senator.

Amy Klobuchar will hold a fundraiser at the Washington D.C. show of ‘Glee! Live in Concert,’ June 9 at the Verizon Center, according to an invitation obtained by the Sunlight Foundation. Face value tickets for the show, which basically consists of ‘Glee!’ cast members singing songs they performed on the TV show, are $66.35 or $108.70, depending on the seat.

Your humble correspondent, who has had some fun with one or two Klobuchar stories in the past, is resisting the urge to insert puns into the rest of this story. I will say, however, that my unofficial choice for most awesome Minnesota fundraiser remains that $5,000 long weekend turkey hunt with Collin Peterson in Florida. My wife, an unabashed Gleek and skilled sportswoman, would consider that contest too close to call.
