National Review: Don’t need another conservative gov in 2012 race, we’ve got TPaw

WASHINGTON — National Review writer Stanley Kurtz opines this morning in a piece called “This is Your Pawlenty Wake-Up Call” that the GOP presidential field doesn’t need another conservative rockstar governor or former governor in the field, because it already has Minnesota’s Tim Pawlenty.

The article clearly hit a nerve at Pawlenty HQ, as more than a half-dozen Pawlenty staffers highlighted the article on Twitter, including a post from Pawlenty’s named account.

“So stop your moaning,” Kurtz writes to those trying to convince Indiana’s Mitch Daniels or New Jersey’s Chris Christie to get in the race. “Educate yourself and educate others. Pawlenty’s still got to prove himself on the presidential campaign trail, but give him half a chance and I think you’ll agree that he’s a very promising potential solution to the GOP’s problems in 2012.”

I just checked. Brutal. And those are Republican commenters. Ouch.
