Super PAC backs Senate candidate Hegseth

The group, Reclaiming Freedom, will raise $10 million to support Republican candidates for U.S. Senate.

A new Washington-based Super PAC has endorsed Minnesota Republican U.S. Senate candidate Pete Hegseth.

The group, Reclaiming Freedom, intends to raise $10 million to help Republicans win control of the Senate in November. It plans to focus on only three to five races, Politico reports, including Hegseth’s campaign and that of Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.).

Hegseth is running for the Republican Party’s endorsement to take on Sen. Amy Klobuchar this fall. Two other candidates, state Rep. Kurt Bills and former state Rep. Dan Severson, are also running. Hegseth has said he will abide by the party’s endorsement.

Politics in Minnesota notes Reclaiming Freedom’s founder, Brian Wise, has worked at Vets for Freedom, a group Hegseth work for as well.
