McFadden reports $1.7 million on hand for Senate contest

WASHINGTON — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike McFadden has $1.7 million in the bank for his campaign against Sen. Al Franken.

McFadden, a business executive, is one of a handful of Republicans looking to challenge Franken this fall. He raised $780,000 during the last three months of 2013, his campaign announced on Thursday. He’s raised $2.2 million since May.

Franken has yet to report his fourth quarter numbers, but in September he had $3.8 million on hand.

Other Republican candidates include state Rep. Jim Abeler, St. Louis County Commissioner Chris Dahlberg and state Sen. Julianne Ortman.

I wonder how much money Mr. McFadden has raised from the largest special interest group in MN?
