No candidates; No debate

NBC and Politico had joined forces to sponsor what was to be the very first debate of the presidential season, May 2, at the Reagan Library in California.

Today, they announced they are pushing the date back more than four months to Sept. 14.

The reason? Not a single candidate has formally announced their entry into the race. Even if you lower the threshold to those who have announced the formation of exploratory campaigns, there are very few and only one (TPaw) at the serious contender end of the spectrum.
