John McCain still has his sense of humor

Reacting to the latest poll showing that an all-time low of 9% of Americans surveyed said they approve of the job Congress is doing, Sen. John McCain tweets:

“We’re down to paid staffers and blood relatives.”

    I can’t think of a situation where I’d actually vote for John McCain, but there are times when it’s hard not to like him.

    I certainly wanted to see the 2000 Model McCain in the White House. What Rove and friends did to him in South Carolina killed my regard for the Republican Party.

    I’ve been reading Bill Black’s book “The Best Way to Rob a Bank is to Own One” about the S & L disaster. The fact McCain is still in office after what he and the other Keating 5 did is one of the great things wrong with this country.

    That behavior just confirmed my dislike (putting it mildly) for the Republican party. No doubt those hatchets are out for Mitt unless he swerves to the far right. I hope more Republicans’ eyes are opened to the disaster for our country if the Tea Party were in charge.
