Friday, April 25 at the Historic State Theatre | MinnPost is proud to announce Minnesota’s own Lizz Winstead, comedienne and co-creator of “The Daily Show,” will be headlining MinnRoast 2014 at the State Theatre!
MinnRoast is our annual song-and-skit variety show featuring your favorite local politicians, journalists, and media types. Marvel as they shed their serious personas to sing, dance, act and poke fun at each other and the state of the state we all love.
Also scheduled to appear: Gov. Mark Dayton, Sen. Al Franken, Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges, University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler, KARE 11’s Rena Sarigianopoulos, Bloomington Mayor Gene Winstead, vocalist Erin Schwab, Tesfa Wondemagegnehu & VocalEssence, K-TWIN’s B.T., former state Sen. Amy Koch, Jim Walsh, Cyndy Brucato, Jim Graves and more.
The evening begins at 5:30 with check-in near the State Theatre box office and a pre-show reception just down the hall at Rock Bottom Brewery. Enjoy special MinnRoast Martinis, upscale hearty hors d’oeuvres with a twist, and reserved booth and table seating for sponsor groups.
For those not attending the pre-show reception, the State Theatre lobby bars open at 6:30. The doors open for seating at 7:00 and the variety show begins at 7:30 at the State. After the show, there’s a dessert reception for sponsors and their guests just down the street in the Burnet Gallery at Chambers Le Méridien. Rock Bottom Brewery is also offering happy hour pricing on drinks and appetizers after the show.
