This is what we’ve come to, apparently. The Minnesota Daily’s David Clarey, Layna Darling and Rilyn Eischens report: “Religious and political communities at the University of Minnesota are offering their support to the school’s Muslim students, condemning two Tuesday and Wednesday incidents as hate speech. … The Muslim Students Association’s Washington Avenue Bridge panel was spray-painted with the word ‘ISIS’ late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. In another Tuesday incident, posters were distributed on campus linking the Students for Justice in Palestine to terrorist organization Hamas and labeling the group as anti-Semitic. … The bridge panel vandalism was the second in the last month. … In a Wednesday statement, the Muslim Students Association blamed the spray-painting for ‘twist[ing] the image and mission of MSA.’”
Hoping to avoid prison. The Mankato Free Press’ Kristine Goodrich reports: “A former Janesville basketball coach and choir teacher accused of filming students in a locker room intends to plead guilty. … Zachary Patrick Roberts, 28, allegedly used a hidden camera to record members of the Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton boys basketball team in locker rooms on multiple occasions.”
People are really excited about MNsure. In the West Central Tribune, Don Davis writes: “Technology issues are fixed and the state’s MNsure health insurance sales program has enrolled 10,000 Minnesotans, a mark not hit for nearly a month last year. … ‘We’ve helped more Minnesotans than we have in any two-day period in our history,’ MNsure executive Allison O’Toole told reporters Thursday, Nov. 3.”
Disrupting the non-discrimination economy. Tech Crunch’s Megan Rose Dickey writes: “Senator Al Franken has some questions for Uber and Lyft about racial discrimination following the recently-released study that says some of those companies’ respective drivers racially discriminate against passengers. The study, conducted by the National Bureau of Economic Research, found that black people have to wait longer for rides in Seattle. In Boston, the study revealed that Uber drivers were more than twice as likely to cancel on people with ‘black-sounding’ names.”

Shocked I say that MNsure would enroll so many people so fast after they said that there were only 100,000 available policies for 200,000 people. They should have subcontracted Ticketmaster who has much more experience delivering a lot of product in only a few hours.
