Bad news and good news. The Star Tribune’s Tim Harlow reports: “Here’s a promise from the Minnesota Department of Transportation: This weekend’s closure of Interstate 35W between the Crosstown and Interstate 94 from Friday night to Monday morning will be the last one in 2018.

Needs some updating. The AP reports (via WCCO): “House Democrats unveiled a draft rules package Thursday for how they would govern the chamber when they take over the majority in the new Congress next year. … One change, proposed by Rep.-elect Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, who is Muslim, clarifies the 180-year-old rule against wearing hats on the House floor to allow for religious headwear, including headscarves.

Lame duck takes out a few thousand wolves. The AP reports (via MPR): “The Republican-controlled House passed a bill Friday to drop legal protections for gray wolves across the lower 48 states, reopening a lengthy battle over the predator species.”

Can maybe fill a few. The Duluth News Tribune’s News Tribune, On Nov and At P.M. report: “Domino’s Pizza is offering Duluth $5,000 to fill potholes. … Part of its “Paving for Pizza” marketing campaign, the pizza conglomerate has been donating money to cities for street repairs. To use the money, the Duluth City Council must accept the funds at their Monday meeting, agreeing to use it for the sole purpose of filling potholes within the city limits. … The money must be used by July 1, 2019. The city must also provide to Domino’s before and after footage of the repairs.”
