ST. PAUL — Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Tony Sutton today issued the following statement regarding Governor Tim Pawlenty’s final State of the State address.
“Governor Pawlenty is right. In order to make Minnesota more competitive in today’s global economy, we need to reform our state’s tax system and business climate to create more private sector jobs. Instead of more Democrat tax increases and more Democrat spending, state government must live within its means. Governor Pawlenty’s Spending Accountability Amendment is the right approach to keep government spending under control. In addition, his bold and innovative proposals regarding education, health care and public safely deserve our full support.”
