More recognition for our social-media efforts

Lists of Minnesota social-media innovators just keep on coming, and the latest one singles out for praise.

On his blog, The Deets, Ed Kohler defines innovators as those that have “found creative ways to use new social media tools to change their businesses for the better, or to build entirely new businesses.”

He actually gives us a “two-fer” rating – with a 1-2 ranking on his list. Kohler writes:

“1. MinnPost – While some news organizations think tweeting out their headlines is a Twitter strategy (it’s not necessarily good or bad, btw) MinnPost has many employees who actively engage readers through various social media channels. Karl Pearson-Cater [our director of operations], David Brauer [who covers the media beat] and [web editor] Corey Anderson come to mind.

“2. MinnPost is also creating new forms of advertising [Real-time Ads], widget syndication, and other fun stuff with the help of Garrick Van Buren, so Garrick makes my list.”

Thanks for the nice words, Ed.
