In the coming days, readers will see a fresh MinnPost byline from Washington, D.C.: Lauren Knobbe.

For the next few months, Lauren will be our intern in Washington, working with MinnPost Washington Correspondent Derek Wallbank and reporting on the state’s congressional delegation and news developments important to Minnesota readers.

Lauren is a junior at the University of Colorado at Boulder and is majoring in journalism and international affairs and participating in the International Media Certificate Program at CU.  She is a news reporter with the university’s paper, the CU Independent, and is involved in the Golden Key Honor Society and the Order of Omega Honor Society. Lauren recently completed an internship with the Colorado House of Representatives.

And Lauren has a Minnesota connection: While she’s not a Minnesotan herself, her family hails from Duluth and the Twin Cities.
