Buy tickets now for MinnPost’s 3rd birthday party

When MinnPost launched on Nov. 8, 2007, we had little idea how challenging the next few years would be.

And now that we know, we want to celebrate with the fans and supporters who’ve made it possible for MinnPost to come this far.

On Monday, Nov. 8, starting at 5:30 p.m., we’re hosting Mini-Roast 2010 at Hell’s Kitchen, 9th St. and Marquette Ave. in downtown Minneapolis.

Mini-Roast is NOT the same as MinnRoast. But the two events are related.

Mini-Roast will include an appetizer buffet, cash bar, birthday cake, coffee and distribution of copies of our 3rd annual hot-off-the-press commemorative print edition, The Best of

The centerpiece of Mini-Roast on Nov. 8 will be a low-key show on the Hell’s Kitchen stage. We’re calling the show “Taste of MinnRoast” and we’re looking for some new volunteer talent — writing and/or performing — to (perhaps) shine on the big MinnRoast stage in April 2011.

In addition to a cold staged read of possible new material for 2011, plus song and dance auditions and who knows what else, “Taste of MinnRoast” will feature some reprised numbers from MinnRoast 2010.

Want to write or perform on Nov. 8 at Mini-Roast? Email me at lkramer [at] minnpost [dot] com by Oct. 8 with a draft of your material. If your material is selected for Mini-Roast, you’ll get 2 free tickets for Nov. 8. No guarantees for April.

Buy your tickets for Mini-Roast here. Tickets are $15 for MinnPost member-donors, $25 for others. Tickets must be purchased by Nov. 3 at noon. Space is limited so don’t delay.
