MinnPost is launching a new premium advertising feature today called Sponsor Board.

Sponsor Board offers companies, nonprofits and government agencies a way to communicate directly to MinnPost’s readers in an in-depth format, on topics/issues of their own choosing.

The content will be clearly and prominently labeled as provided and paid for by sponsors. MinnPost will not edit the content, but, as with all advertising, we reserve the right to reject anything that we do not consider appropriate for our site.

We expect Sponsor Board participants to use their space to educate readers on issues, advocate for policy initiatives, offer advice or information in areas they know a lot about, or announce new strategic initiatives. We hope that readers will find the sponsors’ content informative and interesting.

Sponsor Board content will be highlighted and linked to from an advertising position on the upper left side of the MinnPost home page. On the day a sponsor posts a new piece, it will be featured in the ad position for 24 hours. On a day when no new piece is posted, the ad position will rotate among all the sponsors. On each story page, the most recent pieces from other sponsors will appear in the right-hand column, as will the logos of all Sponsor Board participants.

Since MinnPost does not publish comment on advertising, there will be no commenting on Sponsor Board articles.

Sponsor Board is launching with five sponsors: Marks Group Wealth Management, The Minneapolis Foundation, Greater Twin Cities United Way, and two public relations firms — Fast Horse, which helped MinnPost develop the concept, and Padilla Speer Beardsley, which will contribute content starting in January.

We appreciate their interest. Along with revenues from members, events, and foundations, the revenue we receive from advertisers and sponsors helps us bring you high-quality news and analysis.

If you are interested in becoming a Sponsor Board participant, or would like to learn more, contact Laurie Kramer or Sally Waterman at 612-455-6950 or sponsorboard@minnpost.com.
