Update: The date for this seminar has been postponed until first quarter 2011.

The Minnesota Opera today becomes the ninth advertiser to use MinnPost’s real-time ads format to frequently update messages to our readers.

Now that the format is so well established, we decided it’s time to schedule our first information and training session on this exciting way to advertise and how to get great results with it.

The session will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the headquarters of one of our real-time advertisers, the American Red Cross, Twin Cities chapter.

The main session, from 2:30 to 4, is open to newcomers to MinnPost, current real-time advertisers, current banner advertisers thinking about the real-time format, and people who just want to know more about this.

We’ll share what we’re learning about how to measure the effectiveness of your real-time ads and how to make them more effective, whether you feed your ad from Twitter, Facebook, a blog or an email account.

Before and after the main session:

  • Those who’ve never advertised on MinnPost are invited to a brief orientation to online advertising at 2pm.
  • Everyone is invited to stay for mingling starting at 4 and an optional tour of the Red Cross’s very impressive facility starting at 4:30.

If you’re interested in attending, write to rsvp@minnpost.com. Make sure you let us know if you’ll be coming for the 2 pm orientation as well. If you just want more information about real-time advertising on MinnPost, email our sales director Sally Waterman, swaterman@minnpost.com.
