Dayton will appear at MinnRoast

The governor will make closing remarks at the April 1 event at the Pantages; more than 500 tickets sold so far.

The pace is picking up at MinnRoast Central and we have a few pieces of news to announce.

Most important: Gov. Mark Dayton has agreed to make closing remarks at the show. We hope this is the start of a tradition, similar to the one at the Gridiron dinner in Washington, where the president almost always speaks at the end of the show.

We did invite Gov. Tim Pawlenty to speak at MinnRoast 2008, 2009 and 2010 but he declined to join in the festivities.

In other news: We’ve sold more than 500 tix at a range of prices. Buy tickets here

Rehearsals are going great, so far, at least by MinnRoast standards. Only one dancer has fallen flat on the floor, and she was a sub.
