Sparber to read from ‘Bunny and Coco Get Smashed’

MinnPost arts columnist Max “Bunny” Sparber will read from his new ebook, “Bunny and Coco Get Smashed,” at Kieran’s Irish Pub on Saturday, April 30, 1-3 p.m.

He will be joined by co-author Coco Mault, writer for City Pages’ Dressing Room blog.

Also reading will be Susan Marks, author of “In the Mood for Munsingwear,” published this month by Minnesota Historical Society Press, and music journalist Steve McPherson.

“Bunny and Coco Get Smashed” is a cultural history of alcohol. The co-authors are founders of Daily Lush and The Bottle Gang, two online magazines about the history and culture of the cocktail. They also perform in the pop punk band The Ultramods.

Sparber, who writes Max About Town for MinnPost, is a longtime arts and culture journalist. In 2007 he won a Frank Premack Award for Public Affairs Journalism.

Kieran’s is at 601 1st Avenue North, Minneapolis. The reading is co-sponsored by MinnPost.
