Wrapping up MinnRoast 2012

Tickets sold, tech money pledged and revenue tallied from our fifth annual Gridiron-style variety show.

If you’ve been waiting with bated breath for the MinnRoast 2012 wrap-up report, here are the numbers:

  • We sold 976 tickets this year. The Pantages Theatre has 990 seats. There were no-shows, of course, but we may soon need to look for a larger venue.
  • MinnRoast 2012 had 66 sponsors (64 cash plus 2 in-kind) compared to 56 last year and 28 for the first MinnRoast way back in 2008. The generous support of sponsors makes possible MinnPost’s commitment to high-quality journalism for people who care about Minnesota.
  • Total revenues including Tech Appeal donations were $146,253. Total expenses were $34,842. The 2012 net of $111,401 is 11% higher than last year.

All this is great news. We thank the creators, performers, celebrity guests, sponsors and audience members for making the 5th anniversary of MinnRoast a very special evening.

One final plea for our Tech Appeal. We’ve already received 145 donations ranging from $10 to $1,000, and we’re 75% of the way to meeting the $25,000 goal. Whether or not you came to MinnRoast, we need your support to keep improving MinnPost’s technology.
