Sharing for dollars: a new way to support MinnPost

Starting today, you’ll notice that MinnPost’s share buttons come with an added incentive: for every story you share through email, Facebook or Twitter, we’ll receive a donation from The Woolley Fund.

This share-to-support experiment is powered by Impaq.Me, a tool being developed by the Investigative News Network to help nonprofit newsrooms like ours raise money from philanthropists or foundations that want to tie their giving to evidence that stories are being read and shared. During this campaign, Buzz Woolley will donate $1 to our newsroom for every article you share until we reach $5,000.

To participate, just find the share bar at the bottom of every story, and share our stories as you normally would. If you don’t normally share, now’s a good time to get in the habit. If you’d like to add your own donation, you can do that, too, and we’d appreciate it. But it’s not required.

A bonus: If someone you share a story with then clicks on it, MinnPost gets paid again.

Your sharing always helps us introduce our work to new readers and generate more page views. During this campaign, your shares will bring an additional measure of support. Thank you as always for reading, and especially for sharing!
